Acting Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i has trashed earlier sentiments in regard to the outlawed Chinkororo sect operating along Kisii-Maasai road terming it destruction from his work.
Speaking to the press shortly after casting his vote at Manga polling station, Borabu Sub-County, Nyamira County, the CS chose not to comment on t controversial topic, amid fears that he had staged the group to deal with Nasa supporters.
"Have you seen them? Have you seen anyone here? I have decided deliberately that I will not be dragged into politics and I will not be annoyed,” CS Mating’i told journalists.

A couple of days ago, an audio recording emerged with the purported voice of the CS claiming that he is a member of the outlawed Chinkororo sect, a sentiment that sparked anger amongst Kenyans online.
CS Dr Matiang’i, in a rejoinder, however, said the audio was a mere destruction against the work he is mandated to do.
"Those things are being done to annoy, distract and frustrate me from the work I am doing. I have chosen not to be distracted so I will not concentrate on those things I want to do my work...I don't want to be distracted,” the CS reiterated.
In the shameful audio widely shared ion social media in the recent past, in Kisii language, Dr Matiang'i described himself as a member of Chinkororo and said he cannot be intimidated.
The CS issued the controversial statement in the presence of Deputy President William Ruto while on a campaign trail to mop up support for Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection in October 26 polls.
