Moses Kuria embarrassed in Nyanza after mocking Raila

Kuria angered the crowd after his remarks over Raila's Presidential bids.

Moses Kuria during the campaign in Nyamira County.

Kuria who was accompanied by former Trade Minister Amos Kimunya and local Jubilee officials was heckled when he made a stopover at Nyamira Town.

Kuria’s speech was drowned by chants by cries of "Nasa, wapi Unga" (Nasa, where is mazie flour) even as he pleaded for calm.

According to The Standard, the Gatundu legislator tried to calm the hostile crowd as he listed projects the government has initiated in the county as well as the locals appointed by Kenyatta in the government.

“I have come to request you to vote for President Kenyatta because he loves you. He has appointed Mr Matiang'i CS for Education, (Susan) Mochache PS and (Walter) Nyambati chairman as Jomo Kenyatta Foundation chairman," said Kuria.

Kuria further incensed the crowd when he said the Nasa leaders (Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi) had collectively tried unsuccessfully seven times to capture the presidency.

"Raila has tried three time, Kalonzo twice and Mudavadi twice. How do you expect people who have tried to be President seven times to win this elections even if they have come together?” Raila said.

Last week, Kuria was in the eye of the storm during a similar campaign tour in Athi River, Machakos County, home to the Nasa deputy presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka.

An angry crowd heckled and hurled stones at Kuria who was accompanied by nominated MP Isaac Mwaura, former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile, former Cabinet minister Amos Kimunya and Nairobi politician Millicent Omanga as they tried to address them.

The crowd kept shouting and chanting Wiper and NASA slogans whenever the leaders called out 'Jubilee'.
