Uhuru invited to exclusive meeting to address world most powerful leaders

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been invited to address the G7 summit which will be graced by the most powerful leaders in the world.

The exclusive summit will be held on May 26 and 27 in Taormina, Sicily, in Italy and the President is the only African Head of State who has been invited.

The G7 leaders include US President Donald Trump, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President-elect Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni.

The summit will focus on the global economy, foreign policy, security of citizens and environmental sustainability, the Star reports.

Meanwhile, the President is in London attending the Somali National Security meeting.

During the visit, the President met UK Prime Minister Theresa where they discussed trade among other issues.

“It is Kenya’s desire to continue having seamless trade relations during and after Brexit. We wish to continue accessing the UK market duty-free and quota-free after the UK exits the EU,” President Kenyatta said.
