Kiambu Women Rep humbles herself after voters took action

She stands to lose her job as Kiambu residents seek to block her swearing in...

Gathoni wa Muchomba

And she has now humbly taken to Twitter and Power Breakfast show to say this about her regrettable sentiments “About the salaries I think there is so much hullaballoo because what I said yesterday was not in line with what my people expected and I didn’t intend to go to that direction. What SRC will offer I will gladly accept it.”

“I wasn't looking for money all I wanted is an opportunity to serve the People of Kiambu County. Even without a salary, I would have served my people. I don’t want to blow my trumpet but I have done a lot. “ She tweetd.

Her sentiments today paled in comparison to the stoic statements she made yesterday on NTV in regards to SRC’s decision to slash MPs salaries.

“If you want people to perform, I believe I have heavily invested in human resource. I believe you should pay them well and make them feel appreciated. To motivate MPs so that they can be able to actively participate in parliamentary committees, you need to give them allowances to make them feel that they can see the reason to over-dedicate themselves.” She said.

“ I want to be paid well. I fought I worked to be a Member of Parliament, I campaigned and used my resources, I want to be honoured for who I am.”  She added in the regrettable interview.
