The governor’s instructions are coming hours after a photo portraying the pathetic state at the racecourse road that has been forcing pedestrians to cultivate tactical ways of using the road.
“In Regards to this photo, I have instructed my Team to go at Riverside on racecourse road and unblock the drainage system.” Said Mike Sonko through his Facebook account.

In a bid to fulfill his promises of keeping Nairobi a clean city Sonko has deployed his team dubbed “Sonko Rescue Team” to help bring sanity to the city.
Nairobians joined the conversation to congratulate the governor for his actions of ensuring residents have a conducive environment for stay.
“Mheshimiwa, In addition to unblocking the drainage, there is need to have a separate pedestrian walk since the place has a very small walking path. “Said one user.
Another user opted to advice the Governor, asking him to go for long-term solutions when dealing with the sewage blockages.
“Mheshimiwa you are doing a great but without having longtime solution your work will be nothing in future. Implement long term solutions and you will be remembered for very long time. Come up with bins collections in all areas, tram-train within CBD”
