Social media has been awash with mysterious profiles of men whom many believe are undercover policeman sending out chilling messages to the city’s notorious criminal gangs who later end up executed.

The pseudo profiles include names such as “Hessy wa Kayole”, “Hessy wa Huruma”, “Hessy wa Dandora”, “Hessy wa Eastlando” and Blackest Widow, came into the limelight after the killing of Clare Mwaniki aka Clea Adi Vybz nicknamed “Nairobi’s prettiest thug” earlier this month.

Claire was later gunned down after attempting to shoot at police in the company of other gangsters following a tip off.

However, this is not the first time that Hessy has warned hardcore criminals in Nairobi.

According to The Standard, interviews with a number of undercover detectives reveal those operating behind the pseudo names are real officers involved in the fight against crime specifically in Kayole, Huruma and Dandora.

“It is an intentional move because we know most of these suspects are now online where they communicate and plan various criminal activities,” a senior police officer said.

The cops have been posting photos of wanted criminals and telling them to change their ways or they would be killed.

They all have targets to reduce crime and some officers say at times they arrest and prosecute suspects who are later released by the courts.

To many, these are the real police officers who are actively involved in the fight against armed crime.

“Hessy” is a slang for police officer and a popular term among the youth especially in Eastlands.

It is the fearless manner in which he posts his warnings complete with pictures of the criminals and the crime in which they are involved in telling them to change their ways that has bewildered many and left a mysterious air of fear among criminal gangs.

The criminals who continue with their criminal ways are later found executed and Hessy posts the chilling and graphic images of the slain thugs that i s meant to act as a warning to the other gangsters.

While some are perturbed by the graphic images and posts, others full of praise for Hessy for getting "rid" of hardcore criminals in the city.
