14 people perished in a grisly road accident after an Administration Police (AP) vehicle in which they were travelling lost control and rolled.
The accident which occurred on Saturday at around 1:30 along Marigat-Loruk also left three police officers hospitalized in critical condition.
Baringo AP Commandant Robinson Ndiwa confirmed the incident, stating that “thirteen adults and one child have been confirmed dead while three police officers are critically injured and have been taken to Baringo County Referral Hospital in Arrangements have been made to transfer the bodies to Baringo County Referral Hospital mortuary.
Other media reports put the number of those injured at 18.
Meanwhile, the National Transport and Safety Authority has stepped up efforts to reduce road accidents as the country heads to the festive season.
