Two days after the Supreme Court upheld President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win, preparations for his swearing in ceremony scheduled for next week on Tuesday at Kasarani are under way.

The army conducted the rehearsals on Wednesday with chief of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe, playing the role of the President.

20 heads of state and close to 100,000 guests are expected to grace the ceremony at the Kasarani Gymnasium.

After Maraga’s ruling on Monday, over 40 Presidents congratulated Kenyatta on his re-election with Britain leading the way while Uganda and South Sudan led the East Africa faction.

However, despite the court upholding Kenyatta’s win. The opposition has also threatened to swear in Raila Odinga on the same day.

At the same time, Odinga has remained silent on the matter and is currently out of the country but has maintained that the opposition doesn’t recognize the election of the current Head of State.
