The former Security and National Coordination Mr Nkaissery passed on early July at a Karen Hospital, Nairobi after he was admitted for usual checkups. The CS was said to have gone the hospital on a previous day evening, after he left a National prayer event at Uhuru Park where he accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In December 2014, President Kenyatta picked Mr Nkaissery from the opposition to head the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government. Dr Fred Matiang’i has since replaced the former Army General as the acting Interior CS.
Dr Gakuru, Nyeri County’s third Governor passed on in a morning freak road crash at Kabati area along the Thika-Sagana highway in Murang’a County as he was heading to the capital Nairobi for a morning talk show with a vernacular radio and TV when his vehicle veered off the road and hit a guard rail.
He was earlier rushed to Thika Level 5 Hospital for emergency treatment but succumbed to his injuries on arrival. He died as medics prepared to airlift him to Nairobi for specialised care.
Murang'a County Commissioner John Elung'ata confirmed the death. He will be remembered for having served as a director of Vision 2030, Equity Bank and National Aids Control Council. he was a holder of doctorate in Public Administration and Policy from Arizona State University, USA.

Governor Gachagua died at age 64 in February at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London where he was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.
He had spent a considerably huge amount of time since late 2016 in hospital after he survived an impeachment motion against him. He served as the MP for Mathira Constituency before he vied for Governor Post.
Godfrey Gitahi Kariuki, fondly GG Kariuki, passed on 30th June at 78 at a Nairobi Hospital after serving in the political space for over 50 years, since Kenya got her independence in 1963.

The senator, who joined politics in 1959, served in the governments of President Daniel Arap Moi and founding President Jomo Kenyatta.
His last public appearance was in Nyahururu when Deputy President William Ruto visited and presided over the handover of cheques to dairy farmers who had shares in the Kenya Cooperative Creameries before it went under.
The outspoken and Swahili orator passed on at Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa in mid-February after a week of illness.
Those who ever met the late senator were mesmerised by his eloquence, fluency and colourful Kiswahili whenever he hit the public podiums for political, cultural or social gatherings.

His mastery of Kiswahili can be traced to his early days at Mombasa's Aga Khan Secondary School where he came to the limelight for acting the main character of Ebrahim Hussein’s play .
Before his death in Gasi Village, Msambweni Constituency when asked why he had never grown out of the Kinjeketile role, the senator retorted that “dunia ni jukwaa la michezo ya kuigiza (the world is a stage of theatrics)”.
A once powerful Moi-era Cabinet minister Nicholas Kipyator Biwott, fondly ‘Total Man’ collapsed in his house in Nairobi and was pronounced dead on arrival at Nairobi Hospital in July.
Nicholas Kipyator Biwott, who has died aged 77, will be remembered as probably the most powerful man ever to grace the Kenyan political scene outside the Presidency.

Bishop Cornelius Korir, 67, of the Eldoret Catholic Diocese is died at St Luke’s Hospital in Eldoret end of October after a short illness.
Bishop Korir took over leadership of Eldoret Diocese from Bishop John Njenga after he was transferred to Mombasa before his retirement.

Bishop Korir played a key role in the restoration of peace in the North Rift during the 2007/2008 post-election violence.
Born on June 2, 1957, Mr Nyenze was a close ally of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and passed on due to colon cancer at Nairobi Hospital.
He touched off a political firestorm in Ukambani when he and former Kitui Senator David Musila endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The former Head of ICT at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and most searched online between July and August 2017, was murdered by unknown people and his body dumped in a forest in Kikuyu of Kiambu County.
Many Kenyans didn’t know much about Msando’s history, a man that was described by colleagues at the IEBC as a ‘smart worker’ who was dedicated fully to his job.
Christopher Chege Msando was born at Mulago Hospital, Kampala, Uganda on 28th December 1972. He was a brother to Maurice Msando, Peter Msando, Alice Odongo, Thomas Msando, Patricia Apondi and the late Celestine Msando. The cause of his death remains unclear.
