4 people, among them 3 police officers were shot dead on Wednesday evening in Archers Post on the Samburu-Isiolo-Laikipia border while tracking stolen goats.
Confirming the incident was Samburu County Police Commander Alfred Ageng’o, who said that the officers were ambushed by suspected cattle rustlers.
“We lost three police officers in the attack. More security personnel have been deployed to the area to pursue the assailants,” he was quoted by The Daily Nation.
Among those that were killed was a peace crusader that was accompanying the police.
Seven other officers suffered serious injuries in the ambush and are currently being treated at a hospital in Isiolo County.
It was further revealed that two of those that were killed were officers at Wamba police station and one from Archers Post.
