Albinism Society of Kenya rewards Top KCPE candidate [Photo]

This is encouraging

The Albinism Society of Kenya has rewarded the top candidate in 2017 KCPE examination Goldalyn Kakuya with a Sh100, 000 Cheque.

Goldalyn who scored 455 marks out of 500, was a pupil at St. Anne Junior School in Lubao Kakamega County.

Speaking after receiving the Cheque, Goldalyn said that, she don’t want people to celebrate her, but rather celebrate Albinism.

She added that she was honoured to realize that the nation is now celebrating albinism with lots of love.

“I don't want us to celebrate me. I want us to celebrate albinism. I want to celebrate us. I'm so honoured to be here. I was emotional momentarily. This family, this albinism...we are celebrating albinism. This is to all people with albinism. We are one. Right now we have so many of us who have come out; we are not hiding” said Goldalyn Kakuya

Nominated Senator Issac Maura who is a Member of the Society added that, Goldalyn can be anything in the country after her excellent performance.

“This girl, Goldalyn Kakuya, can be anything including the president of Kenya” said Isaac Mwaura.

He also said that Goldalyn will join M-Pesa Academy on full scholarship.

She scored 99 in English, Kiswahili, Mathematics 85, Science 88, and Social Studies 84 marks.

On Wednesday, she appeared on Citizen TV for an Interview with Lilian Muli who was holding it down for Jeff Koinange who is out of a the country for a holiday.
