CS Amina Mohamed issues new order to affect all schools

The new directive is to take effect immediately.

According to the CS, this is aimed to ensure safety of students as she put secondary school administrators on high alert following the recent spate of student unrest that has seen 10 dormitories torched in the second term.

CS Mohamed has at the same time recalled all County Directors of Education who are currently on leave.

The CS also asked the school boards to assess discipline over the recent fires.

Daily reports

The school heads will now be required to file daily security briefs with county education officials in order to rein in on the rising indiscipline in schools especially fire outbreaks.

They will also be file daily reports on the discipline situation in their schools with the County Quality Assurance and Standards Officers.

''Field officers, including Quality Assurance and Standards Officers, must step up school inspection and assessments to ensure adequate feedback geared towards forestalling insecurity situations in schools. Disciplinary action, including prosecution should be taken against any school administration that conceals, colludes or abets in criminal activities by students or refuses to investigate them,'' the statement from the CS read in part.
