According to her family, Muthoni was looking for a job in Nakuru Town before her demise, Nairobi News reported.

She was a fresh graduate from the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology where she pursued a catering course.

A sombre mood engulfed Muthoni's home in Kabatini, Bahati Constituency in Nakuru County as friends and relatives mourned and consoled with her mother who was too grief stricken to conduct any interviews.

Her father David Gachuki recalled his final moments with Muthoni with great sadness.

He said he had a conversation with her on Friday where she informed him she would be attending a Jubilee Party rally in Narok the following day.

She was part of a youth group that had been campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election in the South Rift Region.

"We did not know she was in the chopper until her friend told us that she was to travel to Narok by air," a painful Gachuki said.

It was after that information that the family tried to frantically reach her by phone to no avail.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri who visited the family to condole with them described Muthoni as jovial and amiable saying he personally knew her after she studied through the Constituency Development Fund.

As of Monday, two bodies had been retrieved from the lake and personally identified as the pilot Apollo Malowa and Anthony Kipyegon who was part of Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika’s media team.

The search for the bodies of the other victims from the ill-fated chopper is ongoing.
