Peter Kamau Njoroge who picked Doreen from where she lay unconsciously has disclosed has disclosed that he fears for his life and expressed disappointment at how police handled the incident.
Kamau disclosed that when they took the body to Kasarani police station, police manhandled them and declined to record any statement from them which is against normal practice.
“They simply took the body from our vehicle and ordered us to leave,” Kamau said.

In what could point to a possible cover-up, police have issued conflicting accounts of the incident and did not record any statements until two days later when public outrage reached its peak.
Kamau and other witnesses were allowed to record statement on Saturday afternoon, 42 hours after the accident which happened on Wednesday.
Although National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has in the past suspended matatus for flouting traffic rules and indiscipline among their crew, buses operated by the SACCO still ply the route.
Well-placed sources revealed to the Nation that the buses are owned by influential people in the city, and police may be reluctant to avoid clashing with the said individuals.
One account claims that Doreen jumped to her death after she was pushed by the conductor when the bus slowed down for her to alight along the busy highway.

An earlier report which has since been refuted suggested that Doreen attempted to cross the busy highway at an undesignated spot.
Passengers who were on the bus allege that a dispute arose between Doreen and the tout after she protested being driven past the stage where she was to alight before the tout pushed her out of the moving bus.
The driver and the conductor were cornered and apprehended at Homeland Inn when they attempted to flee after passengers protested.
Both driver and the conductor are currently in police custody with the bus at Kasarani Police Station.
