The dangerous men planning to attack Supreme Court

The five faces behind a foiled terror attack targeting the Supreme Court of Kenya on February 15, 2018, have finally been exposed.

According to Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet, Intelligence report informed the police of the planned attack on the apex court led by suspected terrorist Abdimajit Hassan Adan.

Moving promptly, officers were able to intercept the armed vehicle meant to carry out the attack which would have had a large scale impact on Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).

Abdimajit worked in liaison with four other Kenyans who assisted him with logistics and ensured he accessed relevant documents including Identification cards.

Abdimajit's role in the foiled terror attack included procuring vehicles, sourcing safe houses and facilitating the movement of explosive-laden vehicles from Somalia to its final destination at the Supreme Court.

Mohamed Osman Nane was the other suspected terrorist who is believed to have worked closely with Abdimajit.

The two were, however, arrested when the explosive-laden vehicle was intercepted in Isiolo by police.

A taxi driver in Nairobi identified as Anthony Kitila Makau is said to have spent most of his time chauffeuring the lead suspect. The two even attended parties together.

At the same time, one John Kiarie allegedly helped Abdimajit to forge four ID cards for a whopping Sh170, 000. Mr. Kiarie connected the lead suspect to a lady identified as Lydia Nyawira who forged the documents.

However, Ms. Nyawira claimed she only received Sh4,000 for the IDs.

The five suspects are expected to appear in court on Thursday.
