Mzee Moi in mourning

Moi eulogised the leader and his great impact on the lives of millions.

Graham passed away on Wednesday at his home in Montreat, North Carolina USA aged 99 years.

He preached to over 200 million people across 185 countries around the world during his life through his inspiring messages on radio, television and the internet.

Moi said the preacher's teachings changed many hearts across the globe who got to know God and accepted Christ as saviour.

The former president stated that God used the life of Graham and his ministry to impact the lives of millions around the world.

"Graham worked tirelessly through his Billy Graham Foundation in philanthropic work under Samaritan's Purse to meet the needs of the poor, sick, and the suffering people all over the world and in particular in Kenya where he contributed immensely in improvement of medical services in Kapsowar hospital, Tenwek Mission, Chogoria, Kijabe and lately at Kabarak. Mzee Moi said the same foundation extended its humanitarian work to South Sudan, Somaliland and Congo," Moi added.

President Uhuru Kenyatta at the same time eulogised the great preacher as one of the most inspirational preachers of the Gospel there has ever been.

"We in Kenya were fortunate to host him twice: in 1960 and in 1976. His words won many hearts; and the ministries which were inspired by his example and strengthened by his support count millions of Kenya among their adherents.

As he goes home to the rest prepared for God’s faithful servants, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. We thank God for his life and his service, and we pray that his ministry will continue to teach and to inspire all those who thirst for truth," Kenyatta said.
