Githu Muigai speaks on next move after resigning as AG

What next for Githu Muigai?

Speaking during the All Kenyan Moot Court Competition held at KU’s Parklands Campus Mr Muigai mentioned that he will be pursuing other interests after his resignation.

“When my appointment for this morning failed through. I decided to come myself to say goodbye to you the scholarly community of the law.

“As you must have read in the media after seven years in the state law office, I have moved on to pursue other interests and since I have been associated with this school it was founded. I actually opened this building and I have been associated with the Moot I thought I should say goodbye,” he said.

Moot court is an extracurricular activity at many law schools in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings.

Muigai was joined by Attorney General Paul Kihara who is set to replace him after nomination by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Last month, Mr Kenyatta announced Muigai’s unexpected resignation during a press conference at State House.

"I have received with regret the resignation of Attorney General Prof. Githu Muigai. I thank him for his service for the last six and a half years. I have nominated as his replacement Judge Paul Kihara Kariuki,” the Head of State told the Nation.
