The High Court on Tuesday suspended 25 sections of the Act that was recently signed into Law by President Uhuru.
They claimed that the law contains provisions which deny, infringe and threaten freedom of expression of the media and persons besides the right to privacy, property and fair hearing.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday last week signed the controversial Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Bill, 2018 into law.
Under the new law, a person who intentionally publishes false publications, misleading or fictitious data or misinforms with intent that the data shall be considered or acted upon as authentic, with or without any financial gain, commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or to both.
