There was panic in Kitui County after KCSE exams failed to kick off as scheduled on Tuesday morning.

Students at Karura in Mwingi North did not start their KCSE at the same time with their counterparts in the country following heavy rains that pounded the area.

It took a joint effort by the government and educational to deliver the Kiswahili paper III and Geography paper I exams by a helicopter.

The students at Wikithuki Secondary School eventually proceeded to sit for their exams after the safe delivery of the papers.

On Monday, a vehicle ferrying the examination papers to the area was swept away by raging flood waters at River Karura.
