Matiba’s Family announce date and venue of his cremation

Kenneth Matiba’s family has announced the date and venue of his cremation.

The cremation will take place on Friday, 27 April 2017 in Lang’ata and it will be strictly a private affair which will be attended on invites only basis.

Kenneth Matiba died on Saturday, 14 the April 2018 at the age of 85. He passed on in Karen Hospital where he had been receiving treatment for a number of weeks.

He had been unwell since he suffered a stroke while in detention. Matiba was jailed for agitating the return of multi party democracy during former President Daniel Moi’s regime. He was arrested with Charles Rubia.

Late 2017, the High Court pushed for his compensation of KSh945 after a court directive that had been made earlier.

He will remembered for being a crusader of multi-party democracy.
