The discussion started after one user reported an incident where a thief was caught stealing from a patient. The same user claimed that on the same day, a woman was rescued from an attempted rape after she screamed off her attackers.

The post inspired numerous stories from social media users who claimed to have witnessed or experienced similar horrific experiences.

It is alleged that the mothers are being raped by mortuary attendants at the facility.

The furor forced Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu to call on the DCI to investigate the matter.

At the same time, Koros stated: "The allegations are in bad faith. We have written to the DCI to investigate and if they is any truth then action will be taken."

On Saturday, female Members of Parliament marched to Kenyatta for inspection. Speaking to the press, leaders divulged that they had established that there were security concerns at the facility which management was aware of.

Samburu MP Naisula Lesuuda said: "They have told us that when they came to the facility they were called as a group and told they should always walk as a group and if they see a man in the elevator they should not enter.

"So this is something management is aware of, they should just spare the country the headache and admit this so that we find a solution," she said.

Lesuuda was joined by Murang'a Women Rep Sabina Chege, Nairobi’s Esther Passaris,  Homa Bay’s Gladys Wanga and Senator Susan Kihika
