Controversial details of why Sossion sacked Mudzo Nzili emerge
The two have had a bad relationship, riddled by National politics and pay perks

The twist in the matter could see the union, which has over 290,000 members split into pieces, owing to the long-time edgy relationship between the tough speaking Sossion and soft spoken Nzili.
Other key personalities who have been axed by Mr Sossion, Pulse Live Kenya has learned, is Mr Samson Kaguma, who served as the national vice chairman in the union that brings together teachers across board.
“We have had historical confusion on the smooth exits by retiring national officials, some of whom falsified documents in the past to change their age,” Sossion said in statement send to the media.

He added: “Based on his age, Nzili should retire on May 16, 2018. And our constitution says an official should proceed on six months terminal leave. This translates to November 16.”
He clarified that the decision to axe Mr Nzili resulted from the amendment to the Union’s constitution and that it was “effected years back to cure the situation.”
A local daily reported in Sunday that despite the purge, Mr Nzili’s terminal leave would still attract a monthly pay of Sh300,000, a full medical cover for 10 years and a car valued at Sh13 million.
It is however emerging that the fallout between Mr Nzili and Mr Sossion was occasioned by the change of allegiance in the interest of national politics.
In the run up to the general elections on August 8, Union secretary General Mr Wilson Sossion threw his weight behind embattled Nasa presidential candidate Mr Raila Odinga. He would later be nominated as a Member of Parliament to represent the interest of Kenyan workers.

On Saturday, Mr Sossion maintained that he acted within the union's constitution to retire his national chairman. It is emerging that the Mudzo Nxili team has vowed to “fight back against the unjust move by Mr Sossion.”
Mr Sossion has already appointed one Mr Wycliffe Omuchei as the acting national chairman with effect from next week Thursday.
The issue under contest is the age of Mr Nzili, who according toi the leaked documents shows that he was born in 1958. His Identity card, however, as seen by Standard, “does not have a specific date and month of birth.”
