Man jailed for 11 years after stabbing magistrate

Just in

Chief Magistrate Josephat Kalo found Michael Kuhora guilty and sentenced him a total of eleven years for attempted murder of Nakuru Resident Magistrate Eunice Kelly.

Kalo handed Kuhora five years for attempted murder of the magistrate, three years for attempted murder of the complainant in the initial case, Ms Edith Adhiambo, and another 3 years for assaulting a court orderly, police constable Veronica Wanjiru.

Kuhora grabbed national headlines in November 2016 after he stabbed Kelly, who had just jailed him for assault, using a screw driver.

The convict pleaded with the court for leniency, stating that he was an orphan after his parents passed away 16 years ago.
