Moi Girls Fire was planned on WhatsApp, Here are the disturbing Messages

Detectives read some of the WhatApp messages

According to preliminary investigations, the suspected arsonists came up with the evil ploy during school holiday and discussed it on a five-member WhatsApp group.

The main suspect, who is currently in police custody, led the girls in plotting the arson attack.

The 14-year-old is said to have had a deep hatred for the institution and did not want to study there.

Detectives retrieved several Whatsapp messages which brought to light worrying yet disturbing details of how the teenagers hatched the plan.

According to the texts, the girls were supposed to burn down the dormitory on August 31, some two days after students reported back to school from home.

However, this did not happen as “there were a lot of movements that night” which forced them to postpone until September 2, when the dormitory went up in flames killing nine of their colleagues.

One of the text, as seen by Capital FM, read: “I will burn the school,”.

Another says, “I will burn the school because my parents refused to take me to (names of the school withheld). I want to do something that will shock them.”

The girls used sanitizer, a cleaning detergent and perfumes to intensify the fire.

Investigators further divulged that they had learnt that the girl has a passion for writing.

“She has been writing about magic and cults…disturbing material,” a detective was quoted as saying.

After the horrific fire, Education Cabinet Secretary confirmed that it was an arson attack.

A Form One student, the mastermind of the plan was arrested and arraigned in court on Wednesday.
