NCIC summons Gladys Wanga over witty utterances to Uhuru an Ruto

A vocal Nasa politician has been summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over her recent verbal attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta during a Nasa rally in Dagoretti North on Monday, September 25 2017.

In the letter written dated October 4, and addressed to Homa Bay County Women Representative Gladys Wanga, NCIC is asking the controversial politician to appear before the commission at their offices on Friday, October 6 2017 over the incident.

“Take not that you are hereby required to appear before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to the offices […] failure to appear is an offence under Section 63 (c), reads part of the two-page letter to Mrs Wanga.

In a rally, the lawmaker insinuated that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are spreading cholera in the country.

“Tumeona Uhuru anamangamanga amelewa mbaka anajikuna matako hana heshima kwa Wakenya huyo, hana heshima ata kidogo. Anajikuna alafu anasalamia Ruto, wanaleta kipindupindu,” the letter quotes Wanga utterances.

The new order to the lawmaker comes in the wake of a wave of protests by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who allegedly abused President Kenyatta during a Nasa rally in Nairobi’s Kawangware 46 estate.

Babu Owino was released last week on Thursday after a court case. The lawmaker, however, told a local radio station that he was held by unknown people into the forest where he was told “to apologise to the president while facing Mt Kenya.”
