NTV to televise World Cup soccer tournament

NTV given rights to televise World Cup tournament

The Aga Khan owned media organization obtained the rights from Kwese TV, a new pay TV service owned by a Zimbabwean tycoon Strive Masiyiwa. Kwese entered the Kenyan market in 2016.

NTV has signed the deal with Kwese at the main Nation Media Group office.

Huge boost

This is a big boost for NTV and it will not only win them more revenue from adverts but also huge audience. Supersport and Star Times offer the same service but when paid for. This is a huge deal for the Aga Khan owned media since majority of viewers rely heavily on free to air channels.

The deal is a huge relief for the station after months of mass employee exits that has affected their output. The likes of Larry Madowo, Linus Kaikai and Victoria Rubadiri decamped from the station.

It was such a huge blow for NTV when the three top anchors left since they had gained popularity countrywide and were the faces of NTV for quite a long time.
