Nairobi’s First Lady Primrose Mbuvi has taken a bold move by liaising with the Kenya National Blood Transfusion service in a bid to increase blood donation nationally.

Primrose will be among millions of Kenyans who will take part in a 30 km day walk that will commence in Nairobi and culminate in Mombasa.

The walk is set to begin on Friday, 8 June 2018 and will be officiated by the Nairobi’s first lady. It will begin from Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service headquarters.

The aim of the walk is to raise awareness on regular blood donations as well as appreciate the donors.

Primrose took to social media to announce the commencement of the movement that will take a total of 25 days on the road.

KRA

Her commendable move comes hardly three weeks since embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko revealed that Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) demanded Sh36 million from his wife as tax arrears.

The governor disclosed that members of his family have subsequently been harassed owing to the tax ‘claim.’

“My wife was slapped with a letter from KRA regarding a business she was doing 10 years ago in Bururburu running Matatus and clubs and she should pay Ksh 36 million. They have even raised a charge sheet against my wife and sister to be charged in Kibera law courts,” Sonko told KTN News
