It was until one of his followers sent the message to Raila Jr, that he noticed the ploy which he realised had been going on for some time.

“There is a guy on IG going by Nama Odinga Junior… We chatted for one month. He conned me Sh5,000 for registration for Sijui portal long story… Kindly if you can just pull his site down,” Mr Odinga received the message form a concerned person.

He responded: “Can you send me the screenshots of the conversations and his IG kindly” and later splashed numerous conversations implicating him in his social media channels.

Assassination plot

This is not the first time Raila Jr has been implicated in a character soiling plot. In June last year, renowned blogger Robert Alai claimed that Raila’s son had hatched a plan to kill him after he exposed a sinister plot to extort from unsuspecting Kenyans.

Alai through his social media accounts claimed that he had received intelligence that Raila Odinga’s son had hired five goons to kill him. The blogger said the goons had been ordered to stab him to death.

"Raila Odinga junior has given some 5 men in black goons of ODM to look for me and stab me with a knife," Alai tweeted June 2017.

Responding to the accusations hours later, Raila Jr denied hiring any goons to kill Alai and urged the blogger to report the matter to the police.

“Those are some very shocking allegations. He should report the matter to the police. I have not sent goons to harm anyone. I don’t know where he got the allegations from. I don’t follow his posts on Facebook. He is not my friend. I have only met him twice. He should go to the police and report.’’ said Raila Junior as earlier quoted by Nairobi News.
