A warning has been issued to locals living near Dominion farm in Alego, Siaya County, after River Yala bursts its banks.
Nyanza regional police boss Leonard Katana instructed residents to move to higher grounds.
"The river broke its banks but we are monitoring the situation. We urge those living along the river banks in Alego and Yimbo to move to safer grounds," Mr Katana was quoted by the Nation as saying.
Reports reaching Pulselive.co.ke indicate that the Dominion farm area is currently marooned by floods.
