Raila announces when NASA protests will resume

NASA leader Raila Odinga has disclosed that Opposition will launch peaceful protests this week against the Government.

Speaking during New Year's eve, Odinga stated that NASA would also unveil their programme for civil disobedience."Within the first week of the New Year, we will unveil a programme for civil disobedience, peaceful protests, non-cooperation with and resistance to an illegitimate regime in addition to People’s Assemblies," he said.

The former Prime Minister, who has been pushing for electoral justice after the bungled August 8th election, warned President Uhuru Kenyatta that the only way Jubilee would know peace was to dialogue with NASA.

"NASA has two ways to realize these goals. We can sit down on the negotiating table with our Jubilee opponents and discuss how to fix our electoral system, reform the executive, protect the judiciary, reform the security sector and strengthen devolution. "We are ready for such dialogue as long as these issues are on the table. Alternatively, we take the issues to the people and let them decide without the involvement of the State,” Odinga warnedOn the other hand, Kenyatta has insisted that he has nothing to discuss with the Opposition telling them to wait and face his deputy William Ruto in 2022.

Kalonzo on Raila's swearing in At the same time, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka threatened the Head of State that they would be sworn in if he failed to dialogue with them.The former Vice President noted that the Head of State had powers to solve the political stalemate in the country."If Uhuru abdicates his duty of uniting this nation, then don’t blame Raila and Kalonzo if they get sworn in.“The truth is that the presidential election was bungled and the country is polarized along tribal lines and we cannot proceed like this,” Kalonzo declared.
