Why 10 party officials want NASA Senator and MP expelled

The MP and Senator are vibrant leaders within NASA

The more than 10 party officials who spoke in Eldoret on Monday from both Western and Rift Valley, have given the party National Executive Council an ultimatum to whip the two out, even after the two recently failed to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee for misconduct.

Kakamega Senator Mr Malala is accused of disrespecting ANC leader Mudavadi, while Mr Osotsi is accused of ‘colluding with Jubilee to squander over Sh60 million meant for the party’.

Mr Billion Ebole on Monday revealed that Osotsi and Malala have openly rebelled against Mudavadi, who is a NASA principal and hence the two should be thrown out of the party.

“Osotsi is in Parliament courtesy of Mudavadi so it’s surprising that he has turned around to bite the hand that fed him,” Ebole said.

The party leader revealed a plan to stage demonstrations against the two leaders in their Kakamega backyard, to push them out of the party.

Sh60 million misused

Harun Nyongesa accused the Nominated MP of mismanaging the party when he was Secretary General.

“Osotsi should tell us how Sh60 million disappeared [during his tenure]. He has run away to gang up with our rivals (Jubilee) to avoid being questioned on how the money was misused," he said.

Mr Osotsi and Mr Malala accused Mudavadi of being a coward after he skipped NASA leader Raila Odinga’s swearing-in as the People's President on January 30.

They have denied claims that they are Jubilee Party moles but ANC has formed a disciplinary team to deal with the matter.

On February 15, Malala said he is not moved by the threats of disciplinary action while Osotsi accused politicians of diverting attention from their absence at Raila's ceremony.

Efforts by this writer to contact the Senator for a comment, went futile as he did not return calls nor did he respond to messages directed to his phone.
