The campaign was started by former Kakamega Senator and NASA operative Boni Khalwale who announced ion Twitter that he had called the Canadian High Commissioner to confirm if the officials were aware of the detention of one of their citizens.
The former senator added that the Canadian envoy's office was not committal on the steps it has taken to push for the release of its citizen who is currently on his fifth day in the hands of the police.
Miguna holds dual citizenship, he is a Kenyan by birth in addition to being a naturalised citizen in Canada where he live for more than twenty years.

"I've just called & talked to a Ms Fiona, the Consular Department manager, who has confirmed to me that they are aware of the matter of their Canadian citizen by the name of , but declined to disclose exactly what it is that they are doing about it!" Khalwale stated.
The tweet was accompanied by the official contacts of the office of the Canadian High Commissioner.
The message triggered a new campaigns as Twitter users started a campaign to bombard the Canadian officials with numerous calls until they respond to Miguna's arrest.
"It is simple. Everyone to call this line to report a Canadian Citizen in Kenya as missing. They will be legally obliged to open a file based on the calls. +254203663000 (source of number: Canadian High Commission to Kenya’s website)," one user replied in a widely retweeted message.
The self-appointed General was on Tuesday arraigned before a magistrate in Kajiado, even as High Court judge Luka Kimaru had ordered for Miguna to be presented before him.

The outspoken lawyer declined to plead to treason charges and insisted that he be taken to Judge Kimaru in Nairobi.
