It's time for you to retire - Boniface Mwangi tells Raila

In a spread published by a local daily on Friday, the former Starehe Parliamentary seat hopeful, who described Raila as an old tree, tipped that the former Premier should retire as he had already honed several politicians around him, praising his contribution to Kenya’s democratic gains.
He further condemned the fact that the 2007/2008 post-election violence victims, and in extension those of 2017, have not been compensated, even as the family of both Raila and former President Mwai Kibaki were not affected.

“People who suffered and died in order for Kibaki and Raila to share power were forgotten as soon as the two shook hands and moved on.
“Raila and his fellow politicians didn’t pay any price for the post-election violence; their sons were not killed, their mothers were not raped and they didn’t suffer any loss,” the activist wrote on Friday.
He added: “Raila Odinga has zero loyalty to the people who take to the streets to protest every time he says his elections victory has been stolen. Raila is a use and dump politician.”

Mr Mwangi, owing to numerous betrayal cases, opined that the former Prime Minister will” never be the president of Kenya” adding that his time to quit active politics had come.
“He has done a lot for our democracy, but his time is up. He’s a tree, one tree, that is now old and has served its time. If Raila wants to be a forest, he must plant more trees and nurture other young leaders,” he said.
Mr Mwangi has equally castigated the former Premier for abetting corruption in nearly 24 ODM controlled counties. He has accused him of failing to end corruption at the time of a grant coalition government between him and former President Mwai Kibaki.
“Raila, in the last five years, didn’t speak about corruption in the 24 counties that CORD governed,” he added.
