The High Court on Wednesday handed President Uhuru Kenyatta a major win after it lifted a ban on his earlier directive requiring fresh vetting of all senior procurement officers.

Judge Onesmus Makau of the Labour and Employment Relations ruled in favour of the government in the case filed by activist Okiya Omtatah.

Omtatah had argued that the President's directive was done without public participation and was likely to trample on the rights of government officials.
