David Ndii dares Uhuru days after release
Ndii vs Uhuru
In a tweet, Mr. Ndii challenged the Kenyatta and Ruto to stop using State machinery to silence NASA leaders instead face them head-on.
”I have been reminded that Uhuruto are wimps cowering behind state power. Let them come out here and we face off mano y mano," he tweeted.
The Economist was arrested on Sunday last week while on holiday with his family at a hotel in Diani, Kwale County. He was in the company of his wife Mwende Gatabaki and daughter.
Ndii’s arrest caused an uproar in the country with Opposition leaders demanding his immediate release.
A section of the public speculated on what led to his apprehension with some opining that it was a strategy to silence and inhibit NASA’s plans to swear in its leader Raila Odinga on December 12, 2017.
In the same series of tweets, Ndii talked about how he was treated by police officers noting that they were respectful.
"They were civil and respectful. They were just following orders," he said when asked by a tweep.
