List of Governors who could lose their seats after new development
The Supreme Court's decision to nullify the presidential election has opened a flood gate for number of petitions filed.

These include: Embu, Garissa, Tana River, Kirinyaga, Mandera, Machakos and Taita Taveta.
In Machakos, Wavinya Ndeti the Wiper gubernatorial candidate has challenged Governor Aflred Mutua’s re-election whom she said benefitted from electoral irregularities that saw the Maendeleo Chap Chap leader win for the second tenement.
Anne Waiguru’s win in Kirinyaga was also disputed by NARC Kenya’s Martha Karua who filed her petition at the Kerugoya High Court. Karua challenged, Jubilee’s win for the Kirinyaga Governor’s seat stating that there is need for a recount. She objected the counting and tallying of the votes from the word go.

In Tana River, Orange Democratic Movement’s win by Dadho Godana has been petitioned by Jubilee’s Hussein Dado who lost the seat by a small margin.
Embu was not left behind in the rush to question election wins as the former Senator, Lenny Kivuti is also seeking the nullification of Jubilee Party’s Martin Wambora. This comes after Lenny’s failed attempt to block Martin from being gazzetted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Ali Korane, the Garrissa Governor of Jubilee Party has been contested by Nathif Jama of Wiper Democratic Movement who claims that irregularities marred the elections which he describe as a sham.
Former journalist Granton Samboja (Wiper) is also facing a petition filed by a voter identified as Armstrong Kiwoi. He garnered more votes than former National Assembly Minority Whip Thomas Mwadeghu (ODM) and the former Vice Chairperson of the Council of GovernorsJohn Mruttu who was an independent candidate.
In Mandera County, Governor Ali Roba and Hassan Noor of the Economic Freedom Fighters party are in heated disputed over Ali Roba’s seat.

In total, 22 of political seats have been petitioned so far. This comprises of the 7 gubernatorial seats, 13 Parliamentary seats and two senatorial seats.
