Ukambani team dumps Kalonzo Musyoka for Alfred Mutua

Blow to Wiper party as team declares support for Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is staring at a bleak future after an influential lobby group withdrew its support for the Wiper leader who has declared interest in the 2022 presidential race.

The Ukambani Youth Forum disclosed that supporting Musyoka would be a bad idea, noting that neither President Uhuru Kenyatta nor Raila Odinga would support him.

The group chair, Vincent Luka noted that “as young people, the major part of our lives is ahead of us. To rely on Kalonzo, yet we know he cannot go beyond where he is currently, is to give up on our lives. We are not ready for this."

The leaders noted that Kalonzo had lost support from other communities due to his indecisive and unreliable nature which many pointed out after he skipped Raila Odinga’s ‘swearing in’.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

In a bare knuckle attack given yesterday , Luka observed that “he (Musyoka) continues to be seen as a betrayer who has no stand on any issue”.

The group urged the Kamba community to rally their support behind Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua noting that he “is the only Kamba leader who has declared interest in the presidency come 2022. He is seen by many as visionary and youthful."

Kalonzo’s loyalty came into question after he skipped the swearing in of National Super Alliance (NASA) boss Raila Odinga.

His Wiper Party has since declared that he would not be ‘sworn in’, casting more doubts on his commitment to NASA even as the principals struggle to keep the coalition stable.
