Worrying incident

Police have launched speedy investigations to probe the circumstances under which NASA Leader Raila Odinga's highly guarded home was raided on Sunday night.

The daring robbers, cut the fence to access the heavily-guarded expansive Opoda farm, they then terrorised guards before heading to the kraal where they stole sheep, goats and geese.

The security guards and the employees recorded statements at  Bondo Police Station yesterday as police investigate the matter.

The People Daily reported its sources indicating the Odinga family has dismissed all the security guards who work at the farm - fearing the robbery was an inside job.

County Commissioner Joseph Narengo confirmed the incident, adding that police were interrogating farm workers to establish if they colluded with the robbers.

We will soon establish who was behind the incident. Geese cannot easily be handled by strangers,” Narengo stated.

The County Commissioner revealed that the farm is also manned by officers from the Recce Squad, who he said may have been guarding the main house when the incident occurred.

The NASA Leader uses his Bondo home for country holidays where he also host key political meetings.
