Joho dismisses handshake, vows to floor DP Ruto

Joho responds to DP Ruto as 2022 race takes shape

Disclosing his future political plans, he stated that “Handshake or no handshake, I (Joho) will still vie for the presidency in 2022”.

Addressing the public in Mombasa during the launch of an anti-malaria campaign in Mombasa, Joho exuded confidence that he would floor Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 polls.

He also disclosed that he will traverse the country to consolidate his support and hunt for votes ahead of the 2022 elections.

Joho who recently returned to the country after a two month absence made it clear that despite the truce between Odinga and Kenyatta, he will not be silenced.

“Handshake or no handshake, anything affecting the people of Coast or Mombasa in particular I will address it because that is why I was elected,” Joho said.

The governor also dismissed DP Ruto’s strong opposition to a constitutional amendment to create the position of a Prime Minister.

“Nobody owns the Constitution, it belongs to the people of Kenya and if they want it to be changed, so be it as long as it is in their interest,” said Joho.
