Uhuru’s team threatened over CS positions

Tip Tip which is one of the parties that folded in order to merge with Jubilee ahead of the August 8, General Election has threatened to move out.

Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile, who is Tip Tip party leader, stated that he was never consulted over the Government appointments.

This comes amid speculations that there were wrangles between Mr. Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over the positions.

The concerns intensified after DP Ruto stayed away from State House when Mr. Kenyatta was holding a press conference to unveil his new cabinet.

However, Ruto dismissed the claims noting: “Kenyans, more so jubilee should avoid useless political debates about positions including 2022 and focus single-mindedly on delivering our manifesto voted for by the people while allowing the President the space to perform his constitutional duty to assemble the team for us”.

Internal wrangles

During a presser, President Kenyatta announced that he had retained 6 cabinet secretaries who include Treasury CS Henry Rotich Interior and Coordination CS  Fred Matiang’i (he is also acting Education CS), Tourism’s Najib Balala, Joe Mucheru (ICT), Transport and Infrastructure CS James Macharia and Energy CS Charles Keter.

At the same time, the Head of State announced three new cabinet secretaries; John Munyes, Ukuru Yattani and Keriako Tobiko (Former Director of  Public Prosecutions)
