Why Kalonzo’s absence at Raila’s swearing-in will remain a secret – Muthama

Muthama finally spills the beans

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Mr. Muthama divulged that only four people truly know what transpired on January 30 when the NASA co-principals- Kalonzo, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula failed to show up at Uhuru Park.

According to the former Senator, the four include Siaya Senator James Orengo, Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu, Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi and himself as the main planners of the event.

“Why isn’t Muthama being asked – ‘you as the planner, you as the key person who wanted the swearing-in where did you disappear to’?{sic]"

"Those who should tell Kenyans what exactly happened and what made the three co-principals not to appear are the four co-chair," Muthama said.

However, he refused to answer the question noting that doing so would expose his brothers in NASA.

"If I try to answer that question here I will be exposing my brothers. Eseli Bunyasi and Orengo we need to hold a press conference and tell Kenyans exactly what happened," he told Citizen TV's Hussein Mohammed.

Muthama dismissed the explanations that have already been issued by Kalonzo, ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka and others noting that the four key planners were the only ones who knew what happened behind the scenes.

"When I was elected the co-chair there were issues I was told to safeguard. These co-chairs were not just picked from the streets. We were given the oath of secrecy and I maintain that.

“I promise Kenyans that soon we will tell Kenyans what happened,” he asserted.

At the same time, Muthama expressed disappointment in Mr. Odinga for leaving them in the dark on the handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“My co-chair James Orengo did not know about the hand, Eseli, Bunyasi and I also did not know about it. and it was a big surprise and about that I am not happy,” he said.
