As we bid goodbye to 2017, we must remember that being an election year, the scandals involving politicians kept us entertained and disgusted in equal measure.
Here are top political scandals:
1. Deputy President William Ruto

You know it was a juicy year when the second-most powerful man in the country was also caught up in a family scandal.
In February, Prisca Chemutai sued the DP for child support over their 11-year child, Abby Cherop, who was born out of wedlock.
However, the case took a dramatic turn after “Baba Abby” took to Twitter where he defended himself as a victim of his “greedy baby mama”.
"My 11 year old child Abby is well catered for including her education in private boarding school. Politicians & Busybodies should keep off," Ruto stated.
2. Hassan Joho

Although rumours of his affair had with a top news anchor were rife, 2017 is the year when Betty Kyallo confirmed that she had been in a romantic relationship with the Mombasa Governor.
"He was going through the same thing, a separation, and we connected on that level. We tried to have something and it gave me comfort because we understood where we were with each other. He was easy to talk to, hang out and have fun with." Betty stated during an interview with True Love.
She added that they separated with Joho going back to the mother of his three children while Kyallo has remained single.
3. Murkomen and Lesuuda
The Elgeyo Marakwet and the then nominated Senator became the talk of social media after messages suggesting an illicit romantic affair were published by local media.

Leaked Whatsapp messages captured the 38-year old and married senator, serenading his shy colleagues with the charm of a teenager.
“I fell in love with you, I don’t know how, I don’t know where but I did…And you just love someone for who and what they are and not just for laying. I love you just like that. Even of (sic) nothing happens I won’t complain as long as I have you,” one of Murkomen’s message stated.
4. Aden Duale
The soft side of the tough talking Garissa MP emerged in November after former Presidential candidate Nazlin Umar exposed details of their romantic affair.
Unlike in rallies and parliamentary sessions where he is always dominating, Duale was captured in an audio begging for Ms Umar’s love.
