ODM MP in unprecedented trouble after declaring Kenya has no President

The MP is among those who have insisted Raila must be sworn in

National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi was on Thursday ordered out of the chambers for refusing to withdraw a statement that Kenya has no president.

Mbadi, who is also the Suba North MP and ODM Chairman, stated that Kenya did not have a President and later refused to withdraw the statement.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi, ordered Mbadi to withdraw the statement,"Hon. Mbadi, I order you to withdraw your statement that there is no President, or leave the house".

"I'd rather leave the chamber than withdraw the statement," Mbadi retorted after which he was escorted out of the August House.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, however, defended Mbadi claiming that he was only paying allegiance to the People's president and did not mean to disobey the Standing Orders.

The Minority Leader has also written to the Clerk of the National Assembly where he declined to nominate Opposition MPs to the Committees on Appointment of Cabinet Secretaries, claiming that the "office of the appointing authority is vacant".
