Moi's granddaughter shames DP Ruto over unplanned visit to former President

A granddaughter to former President Daniel arap Moi has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto over yesterdays failed visit to Kabarak.

Leila Denise Ibrahim accused Ruto and his aides of failing to secure an appointment with President Moi which would have avoided the protocol crash.

"There was a protocol fail on the DP's side, you cannot just show up... without prior arrangements. Least forgetting that Moi is still a well-respected statesman," she wrote on her Facebook account.

The former President granddaughter also lectured the Deputy President's political strategy which she said was confrontational towards her uncle, Senator Gideon Moi, and was bound to fail.

"DP you need to understand just as Machiavelli wrote in his book; …a prince should guard himself, above all things, against being despised and hated; and generosity leads you to both. It is wiser to have a reputation as a miser, which brings disdain without hatred, than by seeking a reputation for generosity to incur a name for rapacity which begets both disdain and hatred".

"Seek out a different strategy and approach and get rid of sycophancy and people who are capitalising on your rivalry. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you," she stated.

Laila is the daughter to President Moi's daughter Doris Moi-Choge - who also happens to be Gideon's twin sister.
