Jubilee's Kipchumba Murkomen supports Raila's swearing in on Jamhuri day

Murkomen supports NASA's decision to swear in Raila Odinga

Murkomen took to Twitter on Saturday  to state his stand, confirming that he sees nothing wrong with the opposition chief being sworn in on Jamhuri day.

In what appeared to be a change of heart, the Senate majority leader asserted that no harm can be caused by the event, poking fun at Odinga.

Murkomen who was initially opposed to the NASA swearing in event accused the opposition chief of planning to cause anarchy.

Earlier on, he told a local daily that “anybody can swear themselves to be anything. The problem however arises when you want to become that which you are not. We know his main intention is to polarize the country and pit communities against each other; it is not about being made president by his people.”

His comments came on the same day that President Uhuru Kenyatta ruled out any possibility of dialogue, directing NASA to wait until 2022 to engage in dialogue with his deputy William Ruto.

With less than two days to the event, religious leaders and Western envoys are in frantic efforts to broker dialogue.
