Newly appointed CSs could soon be fired - Mutahi Ngunyi
Newly appointed CSs already losing their jobs?
According to Mr. Ngunyi, a section of the ministers appointed to the Cabinet will not help President Kenyatta achieve his Big Four Agenda, meant to build his legacy during his last term in office.
Vetting
In his analysis titled: It is a COUP. Raila Swearing-in EXPOSED, Mr. Ngunyi stated that the Cabinet was not good enough hence all the ministers should be sent to Parliament for vetting to make it the best team for the President.
Prof Ngunyi noted that since Mr. Kenyatta controls Parliament owing to the big number of Jubilee MPs in the August House, then he can get rid of some of the CSs he might have appointed against his own will.
"The Cabinet is good because it is not bad. It is a work in progress. But to make it better Uhuru should consider sending all the 22 ministers to Parliament for vetting. Because he controls the Parliament this will give him a window to adjust the Cabinet to what he needs if it is a work in progress," he said.
Public opinion
The political scientist suggested that Mr. Kenyatta should dismiss some of the ministers and ignore the public opinion on the matter.
"He should drop some of his nominees without blinking and I say so because Uhuru is on a lonely path and he should only follow his own purpose. He should give the public the contempt card and whatever it thinks about its cabinet so far," the analyst said.
This comes amid reports that there was a conflict between Mr. Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto on individuals who should be in the Cabinet.
