NASA legislators make important decision on Raila’s swearing-in

The MPs emphasized that the ceremony scheduled for January 30, 2018, must continue as per earlier announcement insisting that they support the swearing-in.

Led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala the Opposition leaders maintained that Jubilee party lost the August 8 General Election.

The lawmakers also asserted that they did recognize the fresh presidential poll held on October 26, whose results were used to declare President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner.

NASA Affidavit

According to official communication the leaders have embarked on signing an affidavit legally recognizing Mr Odinga and Musyoka as President and Deputy President.

The campaign spearheaded by Mr Malala, Makueni MP Dan Maanzo, Ugunja’s Opiyo Wandayi, and Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi already have 50 lawmakers expressing their support.

The team which is dubbed Tangaza Msimamo mentioned that they had summoned others to sign the affidavit in order to know who is with them in regards to the swearing-in.

This comes amid reports of division in the Opposition concerning the planned swearing-in.

According to news sources, co-principals Musyoka and Moses Wetangula are said to be against the inauguration which Odinga was pushing for highlighting that the NASA support base would be angered if the plan was suspended for the second time.

However, hours after the reports by Citizen TV, ODM dismissed them noting that the media house was simply spreading propaganda.
