Upon proceeding to the dias, Mr Odinga took the oath as the People's President with the help of Canadian-based lawyer Miguna Miguna and Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang.

He was in the company of Siaya Senator James Orengo and businessman Jimi Wanjigi. Also in attendance was Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

However, while addressing his followers the former Prime Minister divulged that his co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka could not take the oath today.

He mentioned that his supporters will be informed on a later day why Mr. Musyoka skipped the event.

Also ANC Party leader Musali Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula were conspicuously missing at the event.
