Orengo speaks on Raila’s retirement in 2022

James Orengo spoke in Migori County

Senate Minority leader James Orengo has spoken on National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga’s retirement from politics in 2022.

Speaking at the home coming party of Migori County Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo, Orengo said that the Orange Democratic Movement party could still field Raila for presidency in 2022, because he still is the best bet.

“Some people are saying Raila should retire, but we firmly believe he has not accomplished his goal,” he said.

According to the Standard, Orengo added that Raila Odinga was still in the political big league and he was not retiring anytime soon.

NASA leader Raila Odinga who was also present at the ceremony assured his supporters that the journey to Canaan was still on and nothing would stop him.

“You saw me put my life on the line and even take oath of office amid gunshots and unrelenting teargas. That journey we started is still on course.” Said Raila.

James Orengo’s words come even as Raila’s ODM deputy party leaders Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kakamega counterpart Wycliffe Oparanya have openly declared their interests in becoming ODM flagbearers in the 2022 General Election.
