“If you allow me, I will bring Uhuru here so that we can affirm the peace pact.” Odinga stated.

Kisumu was one of the regions that witnessed violence after the opposition disputed the results of the election with Odinga claiming that his victory had been stolen.

Opposition strongholds boycotted the repeat polls with police engaging in running battles.

The crackdown launched by state agencies on opposition politicians is also expected to come to an end.

A host of legislators from the region were caught up in the crackdown with vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna who hails from Kisumu deported to Canada in controversial circumstances.

The region will also be looking forward to better services and inclusion in the government after the two leaders publicly declared their unity a new beginning for Kenya.
